The past few months have been a season of planning and preparation for the UCBAA. Thank you all for your warm welcome of our newest board members. Also, another big thanks to the AMAZING pep band we had for the men's basketball game on December 29! As the ice starts to thaw and we inch closer to March Madness (fingers crossed for the 'Cats), our board wanted to send an update on some upcoming initiatives.
Football Spring Game | April 13
We are gauging alumni interest to participate in some way during the football program's spring game on April 13. While the time is not yet set, our board is hoping to start a fun annual tradition for alumni band members at this event with enough interest. We will not be limited by seating arrangements or other constraints as we are during homecoming, and your friends and family would be welcome to sit nearby in the stands.
Day of Giving | April 9 - 10
The Day of Giving is one of two opportunities that the UCBAA uses to coordinate donations to the Bearcat Bands and increase our monetary impact for the CHARGE Into the Next Century Instrument Campaign. To date, over $400,000 has been raised for instruments, from larger instrument sponsorships to small, individual donations. On behalf of the band program, THANK YOU to everyone who has already donated to this historic campaign to put a quality instrument in the hands of every band member.
This year's Day of Giving spans April 9 to 10, from noon - noon. We hope you will once again help us dominate the leaderboard by giving a gift using ambassador Natalie Ochmann's unique giving link--by donating in this way, we have an opportunity to win thousands of additional dollars for the Bearcat Bands.
And make sure you watch our Instagram and Facebook group for more notifications day-of!
Contact Information Update
Don't know if we have your most up-to-date contact information? If you've moved, gotten married, changed your phone number in the past few years, you may not be hearing from the UCBAA. We have a lot of fun events in the works this year and we'd hate for you to miss out on the information.
Over the past few months, our board has refined its goals for 2024 - check out our social media post with highlights. Among our ambitious goals:
We asked our new board members a few questions so that those who didn’t cross paths with them in the undergraduate band can get to know them a little better.
Ben Trubach ('18) and Mitch Bleser ('15) discuss what it was like going to the Cotton Bowl to watch the #4 Bearcats take on the #1 Crimson Tide in the College Football Playoffs.
We are pleased to share with you our new Instrument Campaign donor newsletter! Enjoy this update on the ways your gifts are making an impact on the Bearcat Bands program...
